Long Term Reservoir Optimization Due To The Criteria Of Energy Production

Operation of water reservoirs can be considered in the manner of real-time, short term, mid term and long term planning. In this paper, the long term operation is emphisized, due to the criteria of satisfying the needs of electric power system. Usual method for analysing the operation of reservoir includes maximization or minimization of criteria function due to the given technical constraints of the system. Those technical contraints can include satisfying water supply demand, irrigation demand, securing the space for flood wave etc. In the paper review of criteria functions and constraints is given, including discussion of possible hydrological uncertainties influencing the reservoir operation.
