NON-DESTRUCTIVE EVALUATION OF STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT IN CONCRETE
The research presented in this paper analyses the possibilities of acousto-ultrasonic (AU) method in monitoring of hardening process in concrete from the time when concrete is in plastic state. The measuring system, which enables continuous acquisition of the transmitted waveform, is presented and its performance is evaluated through an experimental investigation is evaluated. Analysis was performed on concrete mixtures made with different w/c ratios (0.4, 0.5 and 0.65) and two cement types: CEM I 42, 5 R and CEM III/B 32, 5. Simultaneously with the AU method compressive strength development is was evaluated by through destructive testing of concrete cubes. It was found that a strong linear correlation exists between the amplitude of the waveform transmitted through the concrete sample and a the compressiveon strength development.
