Elements of Anisotropy in Woven Fabrics and Composites
A model of two ingredient flat stripe composite is theoretically analysed in sense of elastic homogenisation. The obtained orthotropic elastic properties lead to normal – shear coefficients, properties responsible for tension induced angular deformation. It is observed that normal – shear coefficients are closely related to rate of change of elastic modulus with respect to angle of rotation of coordinate axes. Some results of tensile testing are presented for different directions with respect to warp and weft in woven fabrics. Tensile forces and angles of distortion associated with prescribed elongation are presented by polar diagrams.
