Strategic Impact of the Internet Use on the Tourism Industry: Preliminary Research
The increasing competitiveness in the global tourism market foster tourism firms to invest more in the ICTs development and Internet usage. Following latest technology trend and using ICTs ensure improvements which lead to easier access, speed, punctuality and reliability of information related to components and the content of tourism products of a travel agency, thus ensuring their easier marketing. The goal of our research is to analyse the impact of the Internet on tourism industry. To accomplish the goal of the research the questionnaire survey will include the random sample of 250 travel agencies. Following indicators of the ICTs use in tourism were included in the analysis: new distribution channels, costs impacts, marketing, price transparency, and communication and learning via the Internet. In order to measure their impact, hierarchical regression analysis was used.
