Slow motions and intramolecular dynamics of nitroxide spin probe detected by the double-modulation ESR technique
The potential of the double-modulated electron-spin-resonance (DMESR) technique has been examined in the study of very slow motions of nitroxide spin probes. Inter- and intra-molecular motions have been detected for the tempone and predeuterated tempone in the glycerol-water matrix. The results are compared with the longitudinal (T, ) and transverse (T2) relaxation times deduced previously by the pulse ESR technique for the same systems. It is shown that the DMESR spectra are predominantly described by T, relaxation. Correlation between linewidths of the DMESR spectra and extrapolated rotational correlation times Tr from the fast-motion region are obtained.
