Tourism cluster – promoter of rural development in Croatia.

Tourism as one of the worlds greatest phenomena of 21. Century is faced with an ever intense struggle on the global tourist market, because there is growing interest showed for him from tourist demand in the last couple of decades. More intense market battle between tourist destinations, regardless of what kind of tourism products and services they provide is conditioned by adapting the tourist offer preferences and requirements of "modern" tourist consumers, which resulted in development of new, selective forms of tourism. One of the growing selective forms is certainly the rural tourism which records the continued expansion of growth and development on the global market. Objectively watching the real state and position of rural tourism in the tourist sector of Croatia, it is evident that there is no significance and importance that is assigned to him in the global tourism industry. The basic reason is certainly conceivable on the focus of national tourism politics exclusively on the development of the "maritime" tourism, which caused the disorganized (random) development of rural tourism. Specifically speaking, there was no mutual networking and cooperation between tourism stakeholders in rural areas. Cluster model of networking is one of the ways of structuring rural tourism, since it was built on the vertical and horizontal networking and strategic partnership. So far achieved knowledge will be shown in the theoretical unit of this work, as the following empirical result of the Croatian academic community in the field of tourism clusters in rural tourism. Empirical unit is focused on the analysis of the benefits that cluster, or interest association encourages. For this purpose empirical research will be carried out on the holders of rural tourism offer (TFF owners) in chosen counties of Continental and Adriatic regions of Croatia.
