FILLET CURVE OF THE INTERNAL TOOTHING – FEATURES, HAZARDS, SIGNIFICANCE
In general, internal toothing gears are made by shaper cutter without curvature of its addendum tip (sharp-cornered cutter). Furthermore, during each resharpening it amends its geometry - amends its profile shift coefficient and its tip (addendum) diameter. The combination of the number of teeth and shifting (correction) coefficient of the generated gear and the cutter affects the length and shape of fillet curve at the expense of the involute part of the tooth profile, leading in some cases to interference or decreasing of radius of curvature. These problems are investigated by examples for the more common cases of internal gears and cutters.
