Parametrization and Calculation of a Shaft by Using Mathematical Applications
It is advisable to carry out parametric calculation and make parametric 3D model for machine parts which undergo frequent changes of initial applications of both the structure and the load. It was found that designers spend most of their time adapting the existing models. This paper presents an example of calculation of gear reducer shaft. The parametric calculation model was done in the programme Mathcad, and then the tool "Excel component" was used to transfer the calculated data in an Excel spread sheet. The spread sheet was loaded using the "Design Table" in the parametric 3D model in CATIA programme. On the basis of loaded parameters a new model was produced. The advantages of this construction approach are the reduction of time as well as the reduction of errors that can occur when carrying out the calculation.
