Prilog poznavanju ikonografije fresaka u crkvi sv. Bazilija u Mržepu
In late 1451 Mihajlo, a painter from Kotor completed his frescoes in the Church of Our Lady (St Basil) in Mržep, above the village of Donji Stoliv in the Bay of Kotor (Boka koroska). The client was Stefan Kalođurđević, an Ortodox Christian who converted to Catholicism. The frescoes created only a few years after the end of the session of the Council of Florence of the Roman Catholic Church where the decision about the Union of Christians of Eastern and Western Church has been made, testify not only about Stefan Kalođurđević's attitude as a key activist of East-West Union in Kotor, but also the willingness of the Bishop of Kotor, Marino Contareno, to implement the Council's ideas within his diocese. In this paper special attention is paid to the specifies of local saints iconography and to soteriolagical- eshatological subjects.
