FEM analysis of single-phase electromechanical meter-Impact of harmonics

In this paper, different analytical calculation methods of active and reactive power, for loads with a presence of harmonics, was compared with calculations provided through FEM analysis of the single-phase electromechanical electricity meters based on the principle of Ferraris energy meter. For validation was used standardized voltage and current signals with the strong impact of harmonics, i.e. realistic measurements for non- sinusoidal power supply as result of high- frequency switch-mode power conversion technology.
