Modelling garment cutting patterns using matrix transformations
A part of garment cutting pattern modelling obtained by employing rotation matrix transformations is presented. Mathematical expressions are proposed necessary to modify a cutting pattern by rotation, as well as the exact sequence of the mathematical operations used in modelling cutting parts. Modelling a garment-cutting pattern is done employing cutting pattern surface segment rotation in three steps. Matrixes of the homogenous co-ordinates of the cutting pattern surface segment are defined for the purpose, together with the adequate variable data for the main points and the matrix necessary for the rotation. Transformations of the main and auxiliary points are also shown, as well as the transformations of the main point variable data dependent upon the cutting pattern modification.
