Computation of electric field in transformers by boundary element method and fast multipole method

Accurate calculation of electric field is important to properly dimension the isolation system of a transformer. This abstract gives an overview of boundary element methods (BEM) and fast multipole methods (FMM)used to develop a solver for computation of the electric field.
