External lightning protection system of the sulphur recovery unit - designing and positioning of the air-termination system

The function of the air-termination systems, as a part of a lightning protection system, is to prevent direct lightning strikes from damaging the protected object. By correct dimensioning of the air-termination systems, the effects of a lightning strike to a structure can be reduced in a controlled way. The goal of the study was to design and determine the positioning of air-termination system for sulphur recovery unit and analyze the effectiveness of external lightning protection system.
