The interdisciplinary scientific project Digitization, bibliographic description and research of texts written on Glagolitic, Croatian Cyrillic and Latin scripts until the end of 19th century in Zadar and Šibenik area is being carried out at the University of Zadar in co- operation with Vestigia Manuscript Research Centre of University of Graz. The project is conducted in accordance with current interdisciplinary trends in cataloguing, research and communication of cultural heritage. The first collection being digitized is a collection of Glagolitic manuscripts held in Archive of Zadar Archdiocese. The goals of the project are: (1) digitization of old and rare books written on Glagolitic, Croatian Cyrillic and Latin scripts, (2) Cataloguing, including the research in the field of manuscripts metadata and terminology. (3) Gathering scientists from various scientific fields interested in research of written heritage and creating conditions for their research (tools for transliteration and transcription, visual tagging, etc.) (4) Communication of the heritage using information technology. (5) Inclusion of public, according the EU recommendations connected with open science and citizen engagement. Project involves students and enables conditions for laboratory and field education. In the presentation, selection criteria will be explained, the digitization technology (mobile copy stand Traveller TCCS 4232) and practices will be shown, practices of digitization, storage, post-processing of digitized pictures, cataloguing and information system used for storage, cataloguing and presentation of material. Protection measures, concerns and practices will be explained. Presentation will focus on research possibilities of digitized manuscripts, and infrastructure for research and presentation of digitized manuscripts.
