Effective behaviour of a porous medium containing a thin fissure
We consider the behaviour of the solution of Laplace’s equation for a porous medium containing a thin fissure, when both the characteristic size of the pores ε and the width of the fissure δ tend to zero. Depending on the relative sizes of δ and ε we find three possible limits: 1. when δ≪ε 2/3 the fissure is not giving any contribution ; 2. when δ∼ε 2/3 the fissure is generating a Dirac measure concentrated on the interface ; 3. when δ≫ε 2/3 the fissure contribution is dominant.
