The role of Brazil in relationship with the EU and Latin America
In this paper the author is explaining the role of Brazil in relationship with the EU as a member of Mercosur on the sub-regional level and as a country which has signed the agreement on Strategic Partnership with the EU. The author concludes that in the relationship with the EU, Brazil was playing a double role with conflicting goals. The first role, that of a regional Latin American power which advocates all integrations and wants to cooperate with the EU, was in a conflict with Brazil’s second role of a global emerging power and player’s intention of fulfilling “Brazil’s destiny of grandeur”.
