Priprava organsko-anorganskih hibrida sol-gel procesom
The organic-inorganic hybrids are a new class of materials offering a variety of advantageous properties, such as mechanical, optical, electrical and thermal. Sol-gel process, consisting in hydrolysis and condensation of alkoxy derivatives of metals like Si, Ti, Al, is usually used to form an inorganic structure within an organic polymer matrix. In this work the organic-inorganic hybrid system composed of a polymer epoxide-amine network, prepared from diglycidyl ether of Bisphenol A (DGEBA) and poly(oxypropylene)diamine, and an inorganic silica phase formed by hydrolysis and condensation of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) was prepared. Epoxy resin and prepared hybrids were characterised by swelling measurements, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The resulting hybrids were transparent and contained between 1.6 and 6.6 wt. % of SiO2. No significant effect of SiO2 phase on the glass transition temperature, Tg, of the epoxy network in the prepared hybrids was observed.
