Water Supply in Roman Istria
The water supply in Roman Histria is documented by a couple of remains of aqueducts, generally limited in length because of the lack of springs in a karst environment. The majority of households and public buildings were supplied with water by means of cisterns, of which many are still today well preserved, and often in the countryside serve as indicators of roman sites.
