Computation of transformer capacitance matrix with 3D BEM and adaptive cross approximation

This paper presents the computation of transformer capacitance matrix based on the 3D BEM for a realistic transformer geometry. The self-developed solver uses the integral equation approach and point-matching to find the unknown charge distribution. Triangular surface mesh is used. The implementation of the ACA algorithm has shown the reduction in memory requirements. Results are benchmarked against commercial software and the applicability of the solver was confirmed.
