INTERFACE PHENOMENA OF NANOADDITIVE PRECURSOR PAN FIBERS FOR MEDICAL APPLICATIONS
The most important applications of carbon fibers(CFs)are in medicine and manufacturing of the polymer-carbon composites. The common precursors for CFs production are polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers. By modification of precursor fibers, that includes nanoadditives incorporation, the aimed CFs properties, such as for bone tissue regeneration, antibacterial or magnetic properties, can be achieved. For the final CF absorption of body fluids the porous structure formation and higher sorption properties are important. Therefore, the interface phenomena of PAN fibers produced by the wet spinning method with incorporation of nanopowders of bioglass, and hydroxyapatite (HAp) were researched in this paper.
