Algorithm for Spherical Coordinate System Transformation for Efficient Lens Antenna Analysis
In this paper algorithm for calculating Gaunt coefficients is presented. Those coefficients arise in theoretical study of electromagnetic scattering by spheres. In analytical solution of that problem it is required to transform vector spherical wave function from coordinate system centered on one scatterer to other coordinate systems centered on other scatterers. There is a lot of papers from the last 50 years in which you can find formulation and partial solution to that problem. There are also a lot of mistakes in those papers which are normally cited as a correct solution. Almost 17 years ago physicist Yu-Lin Xu gave correct formulation of the problem, correct solution and fast algorithm for coefficients calculation. That paper passed unnoticed in electromagnetic community.
