Wind Generation Flicker Modelling and Analysis in Simulation Environment

This paper describes an influence of flicker emissions generated by wind generation on a distribution feeder power quality. The analysis has been performed on the IEEE 37 node test feeder for different operational scenarios changing the wind generation installed power and power factor as well as the power factor at the beginning of the test feeder on the place of common coupling with superior 230 kV network. For each simulation, the influence of generated flickers on power quality has been observed on different feeder locations i.e. different network impendence from the flicker source. Simulation results can be useful for power quality studies of wind farms integration on the power system.
