The Effectiveness of STEM Intervention Program in Changing Primary School Students' STEM Career Aspirations and Attitudes: Longitudinal Quantitative and Qualitative Results from Croatian JOBSTEM Research Project

The JOBSTEM project (fully entitled “STEM career aspirations during primary schooling: A cohort-sequential longitudinal study of relations between achievement, self-competence beliefs, and career interests – JOBSTEM”) is a comprehensive Croatian project that started in 2015, designed to explore different issues related to general question how students’ general and specific STEM career aspirations form during primary schooling. In JOBSTEM project we conducted a two-year STEM intervention program with the aim to increase career aspirations, attitudes, motivation and interest in STEM context. In this presentation I will present JOBSTEM project, describe STEM intervention and present some findings related to effectivnes of such intervention, wich we consider from quantitative and qualitative research methodology point. In addition, I has been presented some findings related to planning future STEM intervention in STEM careers domains and to discuss some prerequisites wich should be fullfied that a such STEM intervention could be effective.
