With the appearance of the philosophy of inclusion in our midst, the need has arised to enable persons with mental retardation to become more self-determinate and join the social communities life. The purpose of the present paper was first of all to establish level to which they have adopted elements of self-determinate behavior. Furtherly, the purpose was to establish and evaluate the efficiency of the experimental training program regarding its application when working with adults with learning disabilities. The pattern consisted of 16 respondents, with 9 male and 7 female respondents. Three persons from group had milde, 11 moderate, and 2 severe mantal retardation. All respondents spent most part of their lives at an institution and have been deinstitutionalized from it just before the initial questioning. The experimental training program was being performed for 8 months once a week for 60 minutes. Structural interviews were used for assessment choosing, decision-making and problem solves skills. Initial results have shown a relatively low of adoption of self-determinate behaviors.
