Natural selection in deriving the optimal parameters from eclipsing binary light curves
Analysis of an eclipsing binary light curve can be devided into two parts: 1) calculating the light curve from the model, and 2) optimizing the agreement between the synthesized and observed light curve. Choice of the model depends on the complexity of the given binary system, which is sometimes not known in advance.
