Corporate philanthropy as a strategic response to the needs of society and the community is increasingly affirming in transition societies as a model of support for a series of activities-from education, culture, arts to scientific research which until recently have belonged to the sphere of the state responsibilities. The transition states, under the influence of integration processes and recommended neoliberal policies that have changed paradigm of welfare state, rapidly replicate this Western models of governance, especially impressed by the American corporate culture. However, the question remains could or can corporate philanthropy take over or replace interventionist role of the state in society of growing poverty and social inequalities, in which is significantly reduced allocation for the community.
