Abstract:	Dahl SS rats middle cerebral arteries (MCA) exhibit an impaired relaxation in response to various dilator stimuli which is restored in MCA from overlapping congenic rat strains containing pieces of chromosome 13 containing renin gene from BN rats, This confirms the hypothesis that normal function of renin-angiotensin system is necessary for maintenance of normal vascular relaxation.
