Abstract:
In this paper virtual mass of the cantilever beam partially submerged in the fluid is measured. The frequency response function and the modal parameters are used to calculate mass, damping and stiffness of the system. The virtual mass is described as function influence to the natural frequency. The calculation of the submergence level is based on the residual force vector. The calculation of the residual force vector is illustrated with the example. The comparison of the cantilever beam natural frequencies measured for beam in air and partially submerged in fluid is presented.
