Freezing points of goat's milk
The main purpose of this paper was to estimate the effects of breed, stage and parity of lactation on the freezing point value of goat’ s milk. Investigation was carried out on milk samples from 30 Alpine and 30 Saanen goats in the course of 5 consecutive lactations. With regard to the fact that all goats were not of the same age at the beginning of lactations ; results of monthly controls of milking are corrected on day 50, 100, 150 and 200 of lactation. Obtained data showed that lactations IV and V had a significant effect on the freezing point value. In the course of individual lactations, no significant differences were found between the breeds regarding the freeezing point values. The highest freezing points were found at the beginning of a lactation period, the lowest at the end. The lowest milk acidity values were established in the middle of a lactation period, and the highest at the end. No significant differences were found between the breeds investigated with regard to milk freezing point values in the course of individual lactations.
