NMR IN STRONGLY CORRELATED MATERIALS – RESEARCHER’S PLAYGROUND
Strongly correlated systems have been in the centre of condensed matter research for decades. They offer a plethora of interesting and exotic phases of matter, [1] from quantum magnetism, heavy fermion physics, unconventional charge and magnetic long- range orders to superconductivity. Such systems emerge in various types of materials [2] – inorganic insulators, metals, metal-organic compounds or purely organic compounds. Often, they possess a challenge for study by NMR technique due to either small NMR signal, short T2 relaxation or long T1 relaxation times. And sometimes the challenge lies in reaching the phase of interest, as it is located in extreme conditions: temperatures below 1 K, high pressure or high magnetic field. But nevertheless, the acquired microscopic information about the materials properties is often essential for their understanding. In this talk, I will present several strongly correlated systems, together with the results of NMR studies done on them and demonstrate how specific issues of their study were overcome.[3, 4, 5] ACKNOWLEDGMENTS This work is supported by Croatian Science Foundation (IP-2018-01-2970), and by Croatian Government and EU Regional Development Fund (project CeNIKS, grant KK.01.1.1.02.0013).
