Regularities of Formation and Destruction of Molybdenum-Tungsten Alloy under High-temperature Replated Static Loading
The paper presents the investigation of the characteristic of low-cycle strength and cyclic creep of molybdenum-tungsten alloy of the Mo-30%-W-NbC-C system prepared by the powder metallurgy methods at 1770, 2020 and 2270 K. In the temperature range studied, the authors obtained a unified dependence of the stady-state cyclic creep rate on the ratio of the equivalent stress to the material yield strength at the corresponding temperature and a generalized curve of low-cycle strength for the alloy. They have shown that cyclic load application accelerates the processes of oriented plastic deformation and fracture of the alloy by 1, 5 to 7 times as compared to long-term loading, with the qualitative similarity of cyclic and static creep curves. The results of the investigation of structural changes and destruction for molybdenum-tungsten alloy of the Mo-30%-W-NbC-C are presented. It has been shown that fracture of the alloy under high temperature occurs due to proceeding the critical stage of polygonization.
