Socio-spatial polarisation in Zagreb
Socio-spatial polarisation has been studied in the world literature for some twenty years. In that period we come upon some significant changes in the world economy which have been reflected on the spatial structure of many cities. This especially concernes the socio-economic component. The changes have not gone bypassed Zagreb, and were the most prominent in the period of transition. This work deals with the changes of the socio-economic structure of the city with a special emphasise on the transition period. These changes are intended to affirm some specifc qualities of the socio-spatial polarisation in Zagreb. The analysis has used the official statistics data as well as those obtained by field work. The conclusions were deduced from the worked out data analysis of the chosen examples in the city.
