This paper shows the discrepancy between the actual theory of production and production development trends. Current theory of production cannot rely on production concepts typical for teh industrial era.Changeable business conditions and different organizational and technological company structures are the main reason why all essential tenets, on which the traditional theory of future production was based on, mostly do not exist anymore. Its significanse has, the therefore, been restricted and has even become an obstacle.
