Testing and Evaluation of Dependability of Microcomputer Fault-Tolerant Systems
The fault injection method was used for experimental evaluation of the fault-tolerant microcomputer system based on duplication in the form of cold stanby. The fault injection system based on personal computer was made and used for automatic testing. The results of testing were used for evaluation of fault detection mechanisms and achieved fault tolerance. The used fault injection method is convenient for evaluation due to great reproducibility. Simple fault detection by using the watch-dog timer alone can not be used for stronger reliability requirements.
