Sažetak:
The basic idea of this research is the fact that in every human community, in every culture, there also exists children's subculture which has an important role in human ontogenesis, and is therefore interesting for developmental psychology. Children's subculture has its own tradition in which children appear as creators, mediators and transmitters. Children's play, especially traditional children's games, constitute a significant part of this level of culture. Games and game - playing (in which the zone of proximal development is reflected) may serve as productive, indirect way of studying of many psychic functions. The ludic corpus collected in Slavonia (region in Eastern Croatia) was compared with those from New Zealand and Great Britain. This paper shows that traditional children's games develop more features common for all people and only in a less degree those that distinguish them.
