Owerview of the surface conditions of photoconductors by the image analysis method

Electrophotography as the way of digital printing is more and more present in printing industry. The earlier used technology based on the arsenic-selenium photoconductors is replaced by organic semiconductors, which are more resistant to mechanical abrasion. In electrophotographic printing, exept to the mechanical abrasion (caused by pressure of the printing form - photoconductor on the printing substrate - paper) the photoconductors are exposed to intensive IR light source of the LED lasers as well as to electrical charging in the developing phase. The charges of the surface conditions of the photoconductors in relation to the number of prints and the time of their usage are investigated in this work. Suitability of the image analysis method for investigation the changes of organic photoconductors surfaces has been discussed. Observing the durability and damages of the organic photoconductors is very important from the ecological point of vie and print quality.
