Reliability and discriminant validity of the justice sensitivity scales in Croatian students
This paper reports the results of the study with Croatian students that provides further empirical data on the distinction among three justice sensitivity perspectives: victim, observer and perpetrator. Scales for justice sensitivity from the three perspectives (Schmitt, Gollwitzer & Arbach, 2003) were adminstered in the group of 155 university students along with the measures of some other justice-related constructs: General Belief in a Just World scale (Dalbert, Montada & Schmitt, 1987), Personal Belief in a Just World scale (Dalbert, 1999), Belief in an Unjust World scale (Cubela, 1999) and Centrality of Justice scale (Dalbert, Montada & Schmitt, 1987). In line with previous research findings, the three justice sensitivity scales showed satisfactory internal consistency. The factor analysis results also supported previous observation that some perpetrator sensitivity scale items load on the observer sensitivity factor. Consequently, significant positive correlation between the two scales was found. The correlations with measures of other justice-related constructs were not significant, except for justice centrality that showed positive correlation with all sensitivity scales. The relationship with the observer sensitivity was found to explain for these correlations.
