Sažetak:
This study is based on the hypothesis that the activated and worked through the separation anxiety can have influence on individuation process within the group members. Therefore in the center of the investigation stands the correlation between the separation experience and individuation process in the psychotherapy group. The author started from the idea expressed through the theoretical development of the psychoanalytic meaning of the term "separation" where it was mainly understood and investigated in its negative and pathological influence on personality development as well as on the psychotherapeutic process itself. Another idea came from the studies of psychotherapy , process where a positive aspect of the separation experience was mainly recognized and studied in the termination phase of the group and individual psychotherapy. Consequently, in this study there is a tendency to indicate possible positive effect of the separation experience on the group process, as well as the meaning of its performance outside the termination phase of the group development. The aim of the study is to investigate whether the activation and working through the separation experience leads to the changes in the identity formation within the group members. The investigation included a psychotherapy group with sight non-psychotic outpatients, who have participated the group from one to two years and a half. The "separation experience" as an independent study variable was defined by two month interruption of the group process. Three investigation periods were formed. Period A was the time before the mentioned interruption and presented the state in which the group existed before the separation group experience. Period B was the time from the interruption announcement till the very interruption and presented the activation and working through the separation experience. Period C showed a continuation of the group process after the interruption and presented the resolution of the entire investigated process. The end results, in comparison with the period A, had to indicate the effects of the separation experience on the change of the identity experience of the group members. The changes concerning individual identity experience were followed up by the "Teennessee Scale of Self Concept" (TSSC) and "Emotional Profile Index" (EPI). The accomplished investigation resulted with the six conclusions (1.) The hypothesis activation and working through the separation experience can enable changes of identity experience of the group members was confirmed. (2.) The result analysis, shown by "TSCC", indicates the changes in the sphere of individuation through the changes in individual experience of behavior, self-esteem and self-criticism. (3.) The result analysis, shown by "EPP', indicates that the activation and working through the separation experience prove a positive "influence" on emotional functioning within the group members through less opposite-aggressive tendencies, regulation of depressiveness, greater behavioral spontanity and higher level of self. (4.) It is significant that the activation and the working through the separation experience can activate some psychotic levels of personality which are in that way opened to the 'therapeutic approach. (5.) In the very group process it is noticed that activation of the separation experience stimulates an emergency of "intensification of affects" and "constructive regression" in the group which by means of working through form "more positive" level of individual functioning. (6.) In regard to the differences in the individual reactions on the individual separation experience, in the study, it is noticed that subjects with a dominant borderline personality have participated in the group dynamics more intensively and more active than those with dominant narcissistic and neurotic personalities. It is evident that the activation and the working through the separation experience have more intensive and positive influence on borderline personality than on the other two groups.
