Impacts of liming on mobile zinc, manganese and iron status in soil
Two liming experiments with application of carbocalk (waste of Sugar Factory) have been conducted under field conditions in four replicates in autumn of 2000 in the western Slavonia province on Pleternica (up to 90 t/ha) and Sopje (up to 60 t/ha) acid soils. Soil sampling was made by auger to 30 cm of depts in autumn of 2004 (Pleternica) and 2002 (Sopje). Mobile fraction of individual elements was extracted with NH4 Acetate + EDTA (pH of the extractant: 4.65) and determined by ICP-AES method. By liming were increased soil pH (1nKCl) from 3.89 to 7.72 and from 3.45 to 6.87, for Pleternica and Sopje experiment, respectively. In the Pleternica experiment, mobile Mn fraction were decreased from 146 (the control) to 82 mg Mn/kg (90 t of lime/ha). Analogical values for remaining two elements were 1.52 and 0.64 for Zn, 283 and 242 for Fe. Also, in the Sopje experiment, liming resulted by reduction as follows (comparison of the control and treatment 60 t/ha): 140 and 101 mg Mn/ kg, 5.30 and 1.22 mg Zn/kg, 297 and 215 mg Fe/kg. However, reduction of Mn, Zn and Fe availabilities was without of negative effects of yields of the field crops.
