Discovering relations between settlement and its environment, and relations between areas of settlement within themselves on the example of Starigrad-Paklenica, makes this study a quest for a principle. A principle that could be applied to any settlement as a universal idea, and at the same time be completely individual in its strategy. Landscape gives community a context and thus also an identity, it is a universal idea of the same principle that finds the identity of Starigrad-Paklenica through a network of public spaces, as a strategy in a specific location.
