Adaptive behavior of pupils with mental handicap in integrated and special school settings in Croatia
This comparison of different approaches to special education of children with mental handicap has not indicated that any particular approach has distinct advantages over all others as regards its influence on the socialization of such children. Nevertheless, some advantages of an integrated approach have been suggested and such results may suggest how new measures to achieve this objective could be made more effective. Although further progress will depend in part on more favorable economic conditions, appropriate legislation to promote the wider integration of children with mental handicap is already in place and the results from this study may suggest how this policy objective could best be achieved.
