Sažetak:
Studies show test anxiety as a main disturbance on all academic levels all the way from elementary school to university (Sarason, 1984, after Birrenbaum, Nasser, 1994.). Children with special needs are more anxious then their peers. It was found that parents of children with special needs were more anxious then parents of typical children so they might be role models in developing those anxious dimensions in their children. Based on those findings, the aim of this study was established. The aim was to examine correlation between competence for parental role and test anxiety in children with special needs. The study was conducted using a sample of parents of children with special needs who attended the 6th grade in regular school (n=81) and parents of typical children (n=231) also 6th graders. Personal traits were examined using The Battery for Perceived Competence for Parent Role (Bezinović, 1988 ; Gustović-Ercegovac, 1992).
