Free triiodothyronine is inversely associated with HDL cholesterol in euthyroid type 1 diabetic patients

In this study we observed significant negative association between FT3 and HDL cholesterol. Our results also indicate that, in the euthyroid stage, FT3 rather than TSH and FT4 are related to HDL cholesterol level. This finding is opposite with the well-known association of low normal FT3 and lower levels of HDL cholesterol in nondiabetic subjects.
