The aim of this work is to show how the varnishing effect influences on color differences and changes gamut of color printed on wood surface. The most widely used wood products combined with brand new digital printing technologies yield non-serial artifact. After the printing varnish is used to achieve a film to protect the ink on the wood surface and to prevent the mechanical damages. After applying, varnish is changing the hue and lightness of color.
