Dal castelliere alla citta'. Esempi di passaggio da abitati preistorici a citta' classiche nell'Alto Adriatico
The northern part of the Adriatic basin was in prehistory an important area of convergence of maritime and terrestrial routes which have contributed to the development of cultures. During the 2nmd-1st millennium BC most settlements were of the hill-fort type, whose inhabitants met the roman conquerors in the 2nd c. BC. Then a radical change in settlement form occurred: prehistoric sites on the coast changed into classical towns, while the hill-forts in the interior continued to llive within a chaged frame.
