Roman intaglios with inscriptions from the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb
Within the glyptic collection of the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, there is a small group of gems with Latin inscriptions, consisting of 7 intaglios and 2 glass gems. These gems are mainly stray finds acquired for the Museum collection in the course of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century. One intaglio has no record of a finding place, while six other intaglios and two glass gems have been found at sites in present-day Croatia and Serbia, which once belonged to the Roman provinces of Pannonia, Dalmatia and Moesia Superior.
