Ponašanje građana u vrijeme uzbuna u ratu u Hrvatskoj (1991-1992) s posebnim osvrtom na ulogu civilne zaštite
In the period between November 7 and December 11, 1991 419 citizens of Zagreb where inquired concerning their behaviour and reaction during emergency (air raids) alarms. A segment sample has been modelled with the aim to represents two remarkable parts of the town (in the vicinity of military barracks) as well as the locations far from the important structures in two less hazardous parts of the town, to comprise the older and the more recent type of building (i.e. less safer and safer in war conditions), to be more balanced concerning sex, in a sample in which middle-aged persons prevail. The basic statistical indicators are quoted in the report relevant to the overall sample ; certain specific features of the answers of the citizens are shown relevant to their residence (Travno, Borongaj, Centre of the town, and Jarun). A study concerning the civil defense education, behaviour and experiences during emergency alarms was carried out in May, 1992., in Sisak, as well. The sample consisted of 207 citizens of Sisak, residents of old and new buildings, dominantly middle-aged. Results show significant differences concerning the civil defense education, experiences and behaviour during the emergency alarms, regarding a number of variables such as sex, age, residential status of subjects etc. A comparison of the behaviour of citizens living in the area strongly affected by the war operations (Sisak) with the citizens in much less endangered area (Zagreb) was carried out. Two highly comparable samples of citizens in Zagreb (N=211) and in Sisak (N=207) were examined. The results of this comparison show the expected differences in the civil defense education, behaviour and experiences, and they clearly reflect the real differences between Zagreb and Sisak in the exposure to the war destruction.
