Influence of an interactive approach to learning and teaching on development of creativity in visual arts education
This paper presents a qualitative analysis of students' paintings, and it is based on results obtained from the pedagogical experiment in control and experimental cohorts. The purpose of the research was to improve students' achievements in following directions: knowledge and understanding of visual language, abilities and skills in the use of art materials and techniques within the framework of planned painting tasks, and creativity in solving visual tasks. Research results can help to modernize teaching practice in visual arts classes, and to create more effective professional training programs, that can help teachers to understand and accept the need of changing obsolete models of teaching. They can also serve as an incentive for further research in this area.
