Haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in Croatia
Haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is a systemic infectious disease caused by hantaviruses, targeting mostly farmers, soldiers, hunters, campers, hikers, and laboratory workers. With the exception of the coastal region and islands, the whole of Croatia is endemic for HFRS, caused by Puumala and Dobrava viruses.
