Sažetak:
High transverse contact ratio (HCR) gears are involute gears with a transverse contact ratio εα higher than two. HCR involute gears present certain advantages when compared to conventional gears, such as increased load capacity, more uniform torque transmission and noise reduction, due to tooth pairs in double or triple simultaneous contact, instead of a single or double contact. The increase in load capacity results in reduced gear size and extended gear life. These gears also have some drawbacks, such as reduced tooth tip thickness and worse sliding conditions between the teeth flanks, as well as high manufacturing accuracy requirements, resulting in increased production costs. The benefits of the application of HCR gears outweigh the drawbacks of this type of gears, so they are being increasingly applied to passenger cars, as well as to other road vehicles, aircrafts and ships. As the contact ratio of these gears varies 2 < εα < 3 instead of the 1 < εα < 2 found in standard gears, the total force acting on the tooth flank will be reduced to 33…50% from 50…100% found in standard gears. In order to correctly determine this load distribution, the gear geometry must be researched, notably the influence of the normal pressure angle αn and gear tooth height h on the transverse contact ratio εα.
